Perspective AI has been developed in conjunction with Jigsaw and Google's Counter Abuse Technology team. Its purpose is to use machine learning to help publishers understand the impact a particular comment might have on an overall conversation.
While comments on articles don't have much impact on a Candidates journey, the interesting part for me about this approach is application of the technology in other areas.
This could be used as a tool to help train and educate a candidates response to written questions by comparing and contrasting their responses with existing data and proving them feedback in real time.
It could also be applied to a large data-set of existing applications to help match similar responses or any outliers allowing recruiters to sift through large numbers of applications relatively swiftly.
AI is not going to replace having someone review or interview candidates in person though... at least not just yet!
Perspective is an API that makes it easier to host better conversations. The API uses machine learning models to score the perceived impact a comment might have on a conversation. Developers and publishers can use this score to give realtime feedback to commenters or help moderators do their job, or allow readers to more easily find relevant information, as illustrated in two experiments below. We’ll be releasing more machine learning models later in the year, but our first model identifies whether a comment could be perceived as “toxic" to a discussion.
