At the end of last year Microsoft bought Linkedin for a whopping $26billion. Despite the doubt in the market, and among users, you don't spend that kind of money without having a clear strategy. We're now starting to see the first glimpse of that strategy with Trending Storylines in Linkedin. There's still speculation as to how far Microsoft will take Linkedin but it's clear that it offers them a powerful social network and with other recent purchases such as PointDrive a fully integrated channel into their core office products.
