Read the media and you could be forgiven for thinking that the economy is going to collapse post Brexit. 

And whilst industries such as nursing, hospitality, agriculture are highly reliant on overseas workers, there hasn't been a total backlash against working or studying in the UK. As an example, the number of EU students applying for entry in 2017 did drop by 4.4% (2,375) against 2016. 

But we need to put this in context. This is after five years of rising EU applications; 2017 applications were still the second highest on record. Ever. 

Now that most of the Brexit options seems to include an element if not total 'freedom of movement', I can't see the economic meltdown that others predict. Let's raise a festive glass to that.
