Come the New Year, come the New Year Resolutions. Here's a set relating to careers, based on a survey of UK workers.
Hopefully the percentage focused on resolution number 9 is because the majority of respondents already get to take some sort of lunch break!
The one that really piques my interest, though, is resolution number 2 - that nearly 25% of respondents plan to change career paths. More often than not, employers focus on looking for exact replacements when, with the offer of the right training, they could potentially open up a whole new talent pool.
In a market where skills shortages continue to bite, this 24.3% surely represents an opportunity for employers to highlight how talent with the right attributes and building blocks (if not specific industry experience) can beat a path into their organisations... So, should hiring managers be making at least one work resolutions of their own?
