The theme of this year’s UHR Conference held in Bristol last week was Competitive Advantage or Collective Advancement. Held over three days, it brought together representatives from the Universities HR community across the length and breadth of the UK and worldwide – reinforcing the global nature of Higher Education.
The conference was an exciting mix of thought provoking plenary speakers, insightful and practical workshops with the opportunity to network with colleagues in a number of evening social activities. This culminated in a fantastic charity Gala Dinner and the UHR awards themselves.
In the Exhibition area, delegates couldn’t help but be drawn to the TMP Pop Up Cinema where they could see and hear how film as an engaging, emotive and memorable medium is now an essential component of every recruitment strategy. The addition of popcorn on the stand together with the chance to win cinema tickets was a real hit.
Here’s a link to the film for those unable to attend the conference.
We also had over 50 HR professionals attend the TMP Workshop on Diversity & Inclusion that was held in conjunction with the University of Reading. High on the agenda of many Universities, it showcased the work undertaken in this area together with sharing the research and insight gained as well as the next steps and anticipated impact.
So all in all, a very interesting, thought provoking and stimulating conference and we’re already looking forward to UHR 2019 in Manchester.
If you’d like to hear more about TMP’s work with Universities in Film and Diversity & Inclusion or indeed any of the topics covered in the film above, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
