Having come from an in-house environment I’m all too familiar with these types of metrics, it’s pretty much the bread and butter in terms of data that was shared.

The thing that did surprise me is that 12% of respondents don’t measure time to hire. Unless of course it’s semantics, and by ‘time to hire’ some in-house respondents felt ‘time to offer’ is completely different. To a certain extent it is, but in my opinion it is the controllable metric. If we’re talking about having SMART objectives, it would be unwise to measure your own success based on a candidates notice period, which could be anything from a week for 3 or even 6 months.

Anyway, for all you in-house folk, here’s what others are measuring, and if you’re not measuring anything, how do you know whether you’re making progress?
