On Radio 2 yesterday morning, Matthew Syed (author of Bounce and Black Box Thinking) talked about his newest book ‘You are awesome’ as an inspiring children’s book demonstrating how success is earned rather than given. His account of David Beckham’s rise to success and attitude to failure really brings to life the value of a growth mindset; when questioned about his mindset Beckham simply said “I made a mistake, I learnt from it, isn’t that what life is about”. The parallels between success in sport and success in the workplace are evident and feature heavily in our passion, purpose, mindset approach to assessment.
