An anonymous London tech company is recruiting an interim Chief Feminism Officer, after realising it was performing poorly on gender equality.
It has claimed this is the first role of its kind ever to have been advertised.
The CFO's main responsibilities will be to manage female recruitment, including ensuring that more female talent is hired, and to support and mentor existing female staff.
With the role paying up to £261,000-a-year, the firm has stipulated that it is not just open to men. (Perhaps they meant 'not just open to women'?)
Even appointing someone for this role would make an organisation more attractive, so I am looking forward to seeing the impact they make in role.
It’s rare for a company to admit that they have internal issues, let alone a serious issue like gender inequality. However, I think they’re making the right steps to rectifying this problem in an open and proactive manner.
