Interesting research from Deloitte that highlights that employers that set out to actively manage their employer brands will have unfair advantage in the 'war for talent'. From refining candidate experience and greater use of storytelling & video through to greater staff advocacy and hire for culture fit and attitude - as opposed to track record - all influence reputation and better hiring.
Seeing that research by The Firm at the start of 2018 highlighted this as HRD's top priority for investment, we can only expect to see the gap between the leaders and the laggards to grow.
The good news is most employers are only scratching the surface of having a competitive employer brand. A survey of over 11,000 employers says that only 30-50% are ready to meet the most critical workforce expectations and trends, according to Deloitte’s 2018 Human Capital Report. With a percentage that low, it’s hard to deny the importance of constructing and maintaining a winning employer brand.
