Interesting to the see the 'Nudge Unit' - or Behavioural Insights Team to give proper title - developing approaches to encourage Head Teachers to apply for national leadership roles and finding that personal letters make an impact.
At TMP our team of psychologists work in tandem with creative and strategy experts to develop insight based communications. So we were delighted to be nominated for innovation at the Association of Business Psychologist Awards tonight. Fingers crossed!!
Supportive letters boost national leader of education applications, study finds School leaders who receive a letter of encouragement are more likely to both apply and get accepted to become a national leader of education, according to new research. A new study by the Behavioural Insights Team (BIT), commissioned by the Department for Education, ran a trial scheme where school leaders were sent letters encouraging them to apply to become NLEs from sector leaders. The research found people who were sent letters were more than three times as likely to apply to become an NLE. The report’s authors say the results support “consideration” by the government for further roll-out of encouragement letters to “stimulate the supply of NLEs”.
