The use of video in recruitment is booming, the stats say it all so at what stage can it be introduced into the process and what are the benefits........
Videos are booming. A quick look at some stats on video-sharing platform YouTube says it all – the site is used by almost 75% of American adults. Among 18 – 24 year-olds this percentage is even 94%. In recruitment, the use of video is becoming more common in various stages of the funnel. From job postings to pre-employment assessment tools using video and, of course, video interviewing software. The use of video in the recruitment process makes sense both from an employer as well as a candidate perspective. Candidates get a feel for the company, the job they’re applying for, and their future colleagues. Recruiters and hiring managers, on the other hand, get a better idea of someone’s energy, personality, and (non) verbal communications skills. On top of that, videos open up a new, global pool of talent for companies.
