Viewers watch as this pocket-sized pyro undeliberately melts part of an ice-skating rink and sets fire to the community’s centrepiece Christmas tree. For the advert’s green-scaled protagonist, it leads to a feeling of ostracisation and, heartbreakingly, sadness. However, the advert ends on a high note – not least because of the efforts and strategic thinking of one flame-haired young girl – as Edgar is brought back into the community and allowed to put his talents to seasonal good use.
