The meaning of success differs between individuals and what this looks like within the workplace can differ greatly between employees depending on their aspirations.

A recent survey highlighted that almost 70% of individuals say that being trusted to get on with their job is key. This was closely followed by earning over £50k, being able to work from home, managing more than 10 people and not having to report to anyone.

It is important that organisations understand what makes their employees 'tick' and looking at how that matches what they are offering. It is also key to ensure that the 'offer' is clear and communicated throughout the hiring process not only to engage and motivate top talent  but also to manage expectations, being transparent throughout.
